Huge Sephora Haul | 2016

Hey everybody! I hope you are ready for yet ANOTHER haul! I wasn’t going to post this until next week, but since my birthday is on Wednesday, and I don’t know how much time I am going to have to write, here it is! This is probably going to be my longest post yet, because I bought so much stuff at Sephora yesterday. So, let’s get to it!

These are all of the items that I bought at Sephora! (including the birthday gift they gave me and a Murad freebie.)

img_4692The first thing I got at Sephora was another Beauty Blender… It was time for a new one and they are just so beautiful when they’re clean! Gosh, I love this thing. Mmmkay, been there, seen that, moving on….img_4695My next product is the Hourglass All Over Shadow Brush. I bought this online because it was about time to add an Hourglass brush to my collection, and this one has really good reviews. I haven’t used it yet, but I think I’m really going to like it. It is a LOT bigger than I was expecting it to be, but I’m hoping it will take less time up because of that, which is always good. Really excited to play with this!

This is a close up of my Hourglass All Over Shadow Brush.

img_4690Now, I have the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Color Correct and ConcealerI had been talking to my mom about this and swatched it in store when the BEST CONSULTANT EVER (shoutout to DI) offered her help.. She completely sold me on this… I mean, I was already pretty close to getting it when she put it on my face, but she could have sold me the whole store and I would have left not feeling guilty about it (sorry dad). I haven’t had the chance to use this since buying, but I’m telling you…. BOMB. Just BOMB. That’s all I have to say about this.img_4687-1And now, I have the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. I actually went into Sephora to get this because I lost/ran out of my last one (and of course I didn’t leave with just the one.) We already know I swear by this, and couldn’t live without my Anastasia Brow products.img_4671Next is the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light. LOVE THIS STUFF. I got the regular one as a sample and loved the way my skin looked after using it, but it was just a little too heavy for me. So, I got the light one and it is still super moisturizing and healing and I’m just in love with it!! I’ve only gotten to use it one night, and will give a review a couple of weeks after using it, but I have a feeling my view will stay the same. IN LOVE.img_4663Staying on the “skincare” topic.. Next, I have the Glamglow Gravitymud Firming Treatment. I am really excited to use this product! I have loved every GLAMGLOW product that I have tried, so I’m sure it will be the same with this. This is supposed to “firm, lift, tighten, tone, and help the skin’s contours look more defined”  WHO DOESN’T WANT THAT?!img_4666Aaaand, MORE SKINCARE! This is the Glamglow Giftsexy Ultimate Anti-Aging Set. It comes with a full size Youthmud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment, Youthcleanse Daily Exfoliating Cleanser, a mini Supermud, and an Applicator Brush. In my head, I saved money buying this.. I needed some more of the Supermud, but also wanted to try the Youthmud because a friend recommended it to me. I am so excited about this little gift to myself! Cannot wait to try the Youthmud and Youthcleanse out!img_4704This is the Glamglow Poutmud Wet Lip Balm Treatment. I just now opened this product, and IT SMELLS SO GOOD. The only real downside is having to stick my finger in the pot to get the product. I feel like that’s not the most sanitary thing ever, but it’s supposed to be an amazing product, so I will look past that.img_4676Now, I have the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Bellissima. I ordered this online expecting it to be a soft, bright bubblegum/frosted baby pink (because that’s what it looks like online.) Then I saw it in store and realized KathleenLights talked about this in one of her videos, and that it’s not supposed to be that pale of a pink. I’m actually really happy with the color. It is the perfect pinky, nude, natural shade. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up in a favorites post in the near future!

Stila Bellissima. With flash- Without flash.

img_4673-1The second lip product I got is the Buxom full-on Lip Cream in the shade White Russian. It has just a hint of nude in it to where it’s noticeable, but is sheer enough to be able to wear on top of other lipsticks and stains. I’m really going to enjoy this product!

img_4708And last, but definitely not least, is the Sephora Colorful Matte Eyeshadow in the shade Prom Queen. If I’m completely honest, I only bought this to reach VIB status (#GuiltyAsCharged). HOWEVER, I am really pleased with the pigmentation of this eyeshadow!!! I wasn’t expecting it to be this good! I will have to see what it looks like actually on, but it definitely has potential!

img_4711Whoops, I almost forgot… My birthday gift! Since my birthday is next week, I went ahead and got my gift from Sephora. It is a Marc Jacobs Lipstick and Eyeliner sample duo. The lipstick is in the shade Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and I don’t know the name of the eyeliner, but it is black as night and hard as I don’t know what to get off. It took me three different tries with makeup remover to get that sucker off after I swatched it! I’m definitely going to use these up and get the full size soon. Really like these two products. Thank you, Sephora!

Alright guys, that’s it for my EXTREMELY LONG Sephora Haul! I hope you all enjoyed this post! Thank you so much for reading!

Sweet Treat Tuesday? | 2016

Hey everybody! I hope you are having a great start to your week! Today, I want to share with you something that I normally wouldn’t. If you can’t tell by the title, it has nothing to do with anything beauty. I hope I’m not going too far out on a limb by doing this, but I want to share this yummy goodness with you… So, let’s get down to it!

Late this afternoon, I walked in the kitchen, after working on a post that I was going to put up today (but will now be going up later this week), and caught my Mama in the kitchen! She was baking these Butter Pecan Cookies for Tea Time! We normally don’t eat sweets like this or bake unless we are going tailgating, have company, or it’s a special occasion. Which wasn’t the case, she just wanted to surprise us with a little sweet treat! (Thank you Mom!)

These are the Butter Pecan Tea Cookies that she made! They are SOOOO good!

She found the recipe on Pinterest, which I will post the link for, in case any of you get hungry after reading this post, and want to try it out! It is adapted from a Martha Stewart Everyday Food Magazine in May 2004. They are sooo good and really easy to make, too!

To my knowledge, we haven’t tried any other recipes from this baker/blogger before, but that is probably about to change! They have some pretty yummy looking things on their site…Or maybe I’m just really hungry, who knows.

Mom thinks the baker’s cookies are prettier, but does that really matter when they are homemade? I think she did a beautiful job, and did I mention they are SO GOOD!??

I guess I will wrap this post up now, no need to keep rambling about how good these cookies are….even though they are! If you are interested in trying out these cookies, click this link to get the recipe! I really recommend trying them out, or any of this baker’s recipes. I’m normally not super into this kind of cookie…but I’m about to go eat another.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it inspired you to get in your kitchen and bake something for you and your family! What is your favorite sweet treat to make?? Let me know in the comments below!

How To: Big Sexy Hair | 2016

Hey Hey Hey!! I hope you all have had a wonderful week and are ready to take it on into the weekend. (One more day!!!) And for the Ole Miss students… Last weekend of break! Mixed emotions, am I right??

Today, I wanted to share with y’all how I get my big hair because I constantly have people asking me how I do it and how I get it to stay. SO, if this is something that interests you, even though it is not makeup, please keep reading!img_4406Alright, I’m just going to state the obvious here, and say that I use hot rollers. Sometimes I will use a curling iron, but I have found that this is the best way to keep my hair from getting damaged. I prefer the Conair Rollers, I have had three of these (I have two currently, so I don’t have to travel with them), and I absolutely love them! It has four large rollers, and eight smaller ones. I like to use the smaller ones for a tighter curl. It takes five minutes to heat up and you’re good to go!

The first thing I do, is brush my hair to make sure there are no tangles. I start from the bottom and work my way up, and then brush straight down.img_4407From there, I re-brush the back part of my hair and grab a good size section. I spray that section of hair with some Bed Head Hard Head Hairspray (my holy grail hairspray), only one or two times, lightly. You don’t want to spray it a lot or it will get really gunky and hard, and when you take it down, it won’t fix easily.

Rolling the top section of my hair, under.

Then, I go to the section under it, re-brush, spray, and roll it under super tight, just like the top one.

This is what it looks like when I’ve done the first two sections of hair. There is still some hair under those sections, but I will get to them later!

img_4434Now, I go to the sides of my hair. I do the top right section, the top left section, and then go to the bottom two sides..img_4474I save the bottom sides for last, because they are smaller and do not need as much time as the bigger sections.

Remember, to always make sure that you are rolling it as tight as possible. I cannot stress that enough. When it hurts your scalp, you’ve done it right. The reasons you want it so tight, are 1- So it will stay in place to set the curl, and 2- So the curl will last longer and be bigger.

img_4473Now that I have all of my hair up, I spray it again, so it will set better. I use a generous amount of hairspray, and spray each section at least twice.

I let my hair sit for at least 15 minutes, or more if I have time. While I’m waiting, I usually finish my makeup, get dressed, pick out jewelry, put on lotion, etc..img_4471The very last thing I curl are my bangs. Obviously, if you don’t have bangs, you will skip this step as the sections around your face will be in the other rollers. BUT, since I do have bangs, I want to curl them because straight bangs and curled hair isn’t cute…. So, I brush my bangs straight up and put the roller behind that section and roll it backwards. I do not pin it or let it touch my head, because it will flatten out at the top if I do. I hold it at least an inch above my head, for at least 4-5 minutes to give it time to set.

After it has set, I take the first section that I did down, and the one under that, taking them out in the order I put it up. I don’t actually know if this helps anything, but I take it down in that order to give the last ones up more time to set.img_4484After it is all down, I just run my fingers through it, and separate the sections that have been sprayed. I do not brush it after rolling because it will fall.

Teasing the top, back portion of my hair.
Teasing my bangs.

Next, I tease the sections of my hair that I want bigger. I usually just do the back, top section and my bangs. Since teasing can break your hair, I only do this when I really need it to stay all day.img_4560-1And lastly, I spray all of my hair with a generous amount of hairspray and I’m done!

The finished product of my big hair!

img_4562-1This is the finished product! It usually is a lot bigger than this, but I let it sit too long and didn’t use a ton of hairspray.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. Thanks so much for reading! If you want to see more hair tutorials, please let me know in the comments below!

Favorite Products in 2015!

Good evening everybody! So, I have been trying to get this post out for weeks, and yes, it is really late to be doing this considering January is almost over.. But, I still wanted to share my most used, favorite products in 2015! Without further ado…Here is my really, super long favorites post!

*Disclaimer* you are likely to see the words “completely obsessed, so in love, amazing, awesome, favorite, definitely, etc. over and over again. The first product I want to talk about is the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I have had this primer since June and I am still so in love with it! It smooths out the skin, reducing the size of my pores, and keeps my foundation in place all day. Definitely my favorite primer that I used in 2015.The next product on my list is the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I am so picky about foundations, and I am really into this one! The only “negative” thing about this is, when I use it with a Beauty Blender, my face can look a little rutty. However, it goes on completely flawless with my Morphe M439 brush. It is awesome for oily, sensitive skin. Love love love this foundation! Now, I have the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Coverage Concealer. This is my holy grail concealer! I cannot rave enough about how awesome it is. I have not tried a concealer that is as nice as this one. I never need to touch up after using this, and it doesn’t crease or get cakey throughout the day. I just love this so much!Next, is the Beauty Blender. I think it goes without saying why this is a favorite. I use it with my concealer and to set my face. I just love the way my makeup looks when I use it. Really recommend this over just a regular sponge or a concealer brush! img_4404This is an Estée Lauder blush palette that I fell in love with this fall. As you can see, I really like the top left, Bronze Goddess, for winter and fall! It’s technically a blush, but it is so brown that I use it more as a bronzer. It does have a tiny bit of a pink undertone, so I use it by itself without a blush. This is probably my favorite Estée Lauder product ever! This is my absolute FAVORITE Morphe brush that I have, the Morphe E4. The Elite collection is SO bomb. I absolutely love this brush for bronzing the face, and it is also really great for blush. If I get more Morphe brushes in the future, I will only buy from the Elite collection, because I have found the others don’t work as well, for me. This one feels so luxurious and is really great quality for the price! Now, to the eyes.. This is the Lisa Perry Estée Lauder palette that I also really enjoyed in 2015. I really like all of these shades. I have the first pale, shimmery one, Ivory Slipper, in the full size container that I have actually hit pan on, because I used it like every day for half of the year. Provocative Plum, the last purple shade, is also a favorite of mine! I feel like the Estée Lauder eyeshadows get really overlooked and forgotten about because it’s very rare that a Beauty Blogger talks about them. They are super pigmented, but with that comes some fallout, but it’s nothing that can’t be easily fixed. My favorite high-end mascara, right now is the Benefit They’re Real Mascara! I can definitely tell a difference in my lashes when I have this on as compared to the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. The wand was a little intimidating at first, but it quickly became a favorite! The Maybelline Turbo Volum’ Express Mascara is my favorite drugstore mascara! Unlike most of the drugstore mascaras I have tried, this does not get my lashes too wet, and ultimately make them droopy. I have really enjoyed this, all thanks to my Big for telling me to try it!img_4398Now, we have the Anastasia Brow Wiz. This little beaut has completely changed my eyebrow game. I will never go back to what I was doing before. However, I may try out the rest of her brow products just to see if I could ever like anything better than this. I absolutely love this thing!!! Definitely the best in the business!img_4396Next I have the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. This is actually my second one to go through, and I need a third because I am almost out AGAIN. This thing is like glue for the brows. It keeps them in place where I want them all day and night, and I just can’t get enough. Definitely a must-have! I think I have been in love with this product since the day I saw it… This is the Becca + Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector- Champagne Pop. You can tell, I have used this thing a LOT this year. It is definitely my favorite highlight of the year…possibly ever. Champagne Pop is BEYOND gorgeous! So glad Becca decided to make it permanent!THIS IS BAE!! I am so so so SO in love with the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in the shade Melted Fig. I usually don’t go for purple lips because they scare me, and I never think I can pull it off.. However, this completely changed my view on purple lips. It is a gorgeous purpley, mauvey shade. I am so obsessed with this lipstick and am anxious to get more. This takes the cake for my absolute favorite product in 2015.This is another Estée Lauder product that I really enjoyed this year. With going to Ole Miss, and red lips at football games pretty much being a requirement, I have gone through lipstick after lipstick trying to find my perfect shade and this has gotten pretty dang close! This is the Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Scarlet Siren. I really love this lipstick. It stays on through tailgating, eating, drinking, screaming at the games, and when I get home, it’s STILL on. It is super creamy, but can bleed out of line if you’re not careful. Using a good liner with this product is definitely a must, or it will bleed out real quick. Still, I really recommend trying out their lipsticks. So good! Now, I have the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray! I bought this product after watching a Jaclyn Hill video where she used the Chill Setting Spray, and decided to get this since I’m already a little oily and don’t want a dewey look. It really does make a difference in the longevity of my makeup and keeps it looking fresh all day. I would definitely recommend this for anybody who is oily because it really makes my makeup stick!
This is the L’Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream in the Original Scent. I really like this product for the winter because in the Mississippi cold, my hands can get really dry at night. I use a pea size drop of this, and it makes my hands feel so much better and moisturized. I received this as a gift in 2014 and I still have almost a full tube left. I gave a few of these as Christmas gifts this year because I love it so dang much. img_4392This is actually a gift I received for Christmas, from my sister-in-law. Her friend makes a bunch of all-natural soaps, scrubs, and other bath products. It is a Brown Sugar Scrub and yes, you guessed it, I am COMPLETELY OBSESSED. I have seen such a difference in my skin from using this and some of her soaps. I cannot imagine a day when I go back to that store-bought crap. I am so in love with her bath products.Mmmkay… Last, but definitely not least, I have the Clean and Clear Night Relaxing Deep Cleaning Face Wash. I use this every night in my skincare routine, and I love how good and clean my face feels after. It doesn’t dry out my skin and make my face really tight like some (which is really bad for your skin), but it makes my face feel so clean without damaging my skin. I used this a couple of years ago, but re-bought it again last year and re-fell in love with it. Definitely my favorite drug store face wash, as of now!

Well, guys, that’s it for my extremely long favorites of 2015! If you made it all the way through, I give you props. I hope you enjoyed this post! Again, I’m so sorry it took me so long to get this out.

Update//New Schedule | 2016

Hello everyone! It’s been two weeks since my last post.. Part of the reason being, I went out of town for the Sugar Bowl, and the other being, I’ve written and re-written about five different posts, but lacked the dedication to actually publish any of them.

I have edited this one about 27 different times and then finally trashed it… I think I have Blogger’s Block… BUT, I’m just going to bite the bullet and publish it anyways.

This is just a short little post about my new schedule for 2016. I have not had a schedule before..granted, I’ve only had this blog for a few months.. but I want to be more organized and try to stick to a certain time to write. SO, going into the spring, I will be uploading content FOR SURE on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s! Since I have Ole Miss baseball season tickets, and the season is coming up, I may not always be able to do this, but I will also be trying to get a third one up on Sunday’s, as well. Do not hold me to that though, as some games are on Sunday’s and I will be going to them.

Also, you may have noticed the new change in layout–let me know what you think of this nice change for 2016 in the comments below! It is still a work in progress, but I think it’s going beautifully!

Alright guys, that’s it for this update post. Thanks so much for reading and following me into 2016! I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year!

Zoé Haul | 2015

Hey all! I hope your holidays were wonderful! Mine sure was. I wrote this post before the first, but ran out of time to edit and all of that, because I went out of town.. But better late than never, right? I will be getting on a regular schedule starting this week and will make another post discussing that!

So… Let’s get to it! There is a makeup boutique, in Oxford, called Zoé, that I absolutely love. I generally just get my skincare products there because their stuff just works for me and it’s close.. Hope you enjoy this last little haul of 2015! This is my absolute favorite brand of makeup remover! In the past, I used the pump, but I decided to try out the gel this time and so far, I’m really liking it! I always try to stray from the Klorane makeup remover, and I always come back. It is so great for sensitive skin. I REALLY recommend their products. Now, I have this sponge that I have been using with the Klorane makeup remover. I’ve never used a sponge to take makeup off with, but I’ve noticed a difference in my skin in just two days. Really liking this, so far!I also really love the Mario Badescu skincare products. I used to use a different cleansing lotion from them, but this product was recommended to me and so far, it is so soothing after washing my face. It smells SO good too, so that’s always a plus. Last, but not least, I got the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in the shade Deauville. I’ve heard this foundation is really great for oily skin, but I had never gotten around to trying it. Really excited for this!

Well, y’all, that’s it for this little haul. Have you used any of these products? Did they work for you? Let me know in the comments below!
