All I have to say about this post is: I am NOT bringing the negativity of these products into my new year. It’s time for them to go!
1. Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer.
I used to REALLY like this primer. But as the months went on, I realized this was the reason my foundation would literally run away from my skin after applying it. I like my foundation to actually stay on my face so you won’t catch me using this ever again. (My holy grail is a Smashbox primer though, so they’re not all bad!)
2. Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer.
WHO LET ME BUY THIS!! Literally WHO thought this was a good product. I have combo skin that can get pretty oily in my T-zone and break up my foundation, so I thought this might control it some. Instead, it was like putting on a thick coat of sticky paint. And don’t even get me started on the application of foundation over it… It is just not for me.
3. Mac Studio Conceal and Correct Duo.
This… I don’t even know what to say about it. I used to use it to try to cover up spots. But it honestly never did much and I always had to cover it up with concealer. Felt it was unnecessary so I stopped using.
4. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder.
I’m not as passionately turned off by this product (or really the rest of them) it just didn’t do anything for me and I got a little bit of flashback from using it. Not terrible, I just have better.
5. Mac Bronzing Powder.
Honestly, this product is like two years old now. I liked it at first (obviously, I hit pan) but it started making my face look muddy so I put it in the back of my collection and forgot about it. It could be a lot worse, but it’s old now and time for it to go.
6. Elf Golden palette
This is also one of my older palettes that I used a couple of times until I realized shimmer bronzer is just really not cute on my face. Plus, with how light my skin tone is staying now (RIP tan me), these shades don’t really work for me anymore.
7. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Slimlight – Topaz.
Really, IDK how this has lasted in my collection this long. It’s been sitting at the bottom of my case since I got it because it NEVER worked for me. I would put it on and nothing would happen. The color would just disappear. I haven’t used this since it came out but hated to get rid of it because of Jaclyn. Not anymore.
8. Anastasia Brow Definer
Truthfully, Brow Wiz will always be my favorite. This is just too big and bulky for my liking. I wanted to love it as much as everyone else, but ultimately it didn’t work for me. I ended up going back to my holy grail but wouldn’t let go of this until now.
9. Lancome Ultra Precision Eyebrow Pencil.
I actually really enjoyed this pencil. Great formula, easy to work with and long lasting. Only problem: I ran out within three weeks of using it. It’s just too expensive to keep buying when I like the Brow Wiz just the same and it lasts way longer for me.
10. Makeup Revolution Aqua Seal Liquid Eye Primer.
This just did not work for me. It’s messy and not worth the trouble. I tried to use it for glitter (rave style) and it never stayed where I wanted it and messed up the work I had already done. I used over half the bottle on my face for one application and ended up having to redo my makeup using something else. Save your money and don’t buy this.
This purge is finally done! It was so needed. I feel so much lighter throwing these things out of my collection and giving myself space for growth! Thank u, next.
Thanks for reading!

Thatās too bad the Smashbox & MUFE primers donāt work for you. They work great for me. I only use the MUFE one on my oily areas. It isnāt sticky on me. Maybe you got a bad one? Who knows? Funny how products work for one donāt work on someone else.

UGH I KNOW! My favorite is the Smashbox pore minimizing. Photo finish was the first primer I ever used and when I started testing other things I never went back to it. When I did, I used it for a while and my base would slip off within an hour. š¦ As for MUFE, I love their products this just got sticky and would ball up when I put foundation on top. It was really strange and made me sad. Glad they work for you though! Crazy how that works.

If you want to try a good pore filler, try the LāOreal Magic Perfecting Base. Itās my fave. It has a thicker consistency, but I prefer that in that type of primer.

It comes in a little pot. I just use a q-tip to scoop a little out.

Good to know about the q-tip! Iāve been wanting to try out some primers in tubs/pots.
