Sorry I’ve been MIA for the past few months…or year. (yikes)
I went through some not-so-fun things last spring and just needed some time to myself.
[If you want to know more about that visit my school blog here]
I have also been super busy because I’m finally graduating in D E C E M B E R! It has taken me 4-1/2 years to get here and I am so excited to finally be handed my diploma!
I took 18 hours of classes this summer and word of advice.. DON’T DO IT! It’s not fun!
I had finally hit a point where I really wanted to graduate and start my life so I thought torturing myself during my last summer of freedom would be a great idea! (lol)
But it was definitely worth it!
I still haven’t fully decided what I’m going to do come winter, but am in the process of figuring it out! Possibly moving out of my home state, possibly not, who knows? (insert extremely stressed senior here)
Anyways, I just wanted to get on here and say hi I’M BACK before my next few posts.
Formal Recruitment is starting this coming Sunday and I will be posting some fun things to do with that soon! Stay tuned.
A few months ago, I made a small Morphe purchase. These products have changed my life forever. Whereas, before this last buy, I was on the fence about the brand. I wasn’t convinced they were as good as everyone said. Funny how one purchase can change how you feel about an entire brand…
The sole reason I bought anything from Morphe, was to test out their Flawless Beauty Sponge. Let me tell you, this thing lives up to all the hype. I went from hating the Tarte Shapetape Concealer (using the Real Techniques Sponge) to it being my holy grail when using this sponge. It’s just too good! I actually cannot imagine using any other brand’s sponges, now.
Since this was so good, I will definitely be trying out their Highlight & Contour Sponge next!
The second thing I wanted to purchase was the M433 Pro Firm Blending Fluff. This is, by far, my absolute favorite blending brush ever!! Makes my life so much easier. I don’t go anywhere without this brush. I feel the need to buy like 47 more….
Now I have the Morphe Y10 Mini Detail Contour brush. I first heard about this thing from Jaclyn Hill. I started off using it as a foundation brush, but have since only been using it for contouring. It’s definitely a great, little brush that I am glad to have added to my collection!
Lastly, I have the Morphe M432 Flat Liner Definer. This is a great brush to get product as close to your lower lash line as possible. So easy to use, my (not so) new go-to.
That’s all I have for this short little haul! Have you purchased these brushes?? What are your thoughts on Morphe? Let me know in the comments below!

Disclaimer: I was one of the lucky people to receive the Marc Jacob Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlightcomplementary of Influenster and Marc Jacobs Beauty for reviewing purposes. My opinion is 100% my own and is not swayed in any way, simply because it was free.
When I first started using this product, I really enjoyed it. It was a great product, and I began using it pretty consistently, especially on nights out. It is a beautiful peachy-golden shade that would, in my opinion, be great on just about any skin tone, and it was definitely the perfect blinding highlighter!
After about a week of usage, I started noticing the product would break up my foundation to the point where, when I put it on, the foundation would completely come off of the areas I applied it.
I tried to give it several other chances with different application techniques (and different foundations), but ultimately decided this product just wasn’t for me, and stopped using it altogether.
I really do not want to discard such a high-end product, but it has really not worked for me since the first few times. Even after applying swatches on the back of my hand for these pictures, I noticed it starting to ball up and get super thick and patchy, no matter how little product I used.
I may end up trying it again as shoulder or collarbone highlight, or maybe even on my summer no-makeup days, because I really do hate to waste it. Ugh, it’s just so pretty, I hate that it doesn’t work with foundation!
Please let me know in the comments below if you have tried the Coconut Gel Highlighter out, and if it worked for you or not!

Yes, I know this is super late. Yes, I know people have moved on from Christmas and are gearing back up for school and taking on this new year. However, I still wanted to show you guys the latest additions to my collection!
Sephora Brand Avocado Facial Mask.I used this mask right away and I really loved it! I woke up the next day with a more clear complexion. Sephora has really great masks and I definitely recommend this one!
Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème in the shade Light 3.This is my absolute FAVORITE CONCEALER right now and I am so thankful to have been able to add it to my collection!
Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Gloss Lip Lacquer Lip Glosses.
I had never used Marc Jacobs Beauty before Christmas and these have definitely become some of my new favorite glosses!
Marc Jacobs Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon.
I had actually run out of all but black eyeliner, so I am really excited I got these! I have tried BlacquerBerry on my upper lid and it transferred really bad, so I definitely recommend using these on the lower lash line and waterline! I am going to give it another chance with maybe a different shade and see if they just do that, or if it was a one time thing.
Marc Jacobs The Bronze- Bronzer Brush No. 12.I am absolutely OBSESSED with this brush! It is so soft and fluffy and just… OMG. It’s amazing. It is super pricey, so if you’re looking for a great bronzer brush to splurge on, this is your guy!
Marc Jacobs Object of Desire Face and Eye Palette.LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this palette! Such amazing formula and pigmentation! The blush and highlight are so BOMB. The shadows don’t give much room for various looks without other palettes, but still a great addition to my collection!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette.I just want to shout out my super sweet cousin, Darden, for giving me this palette!! It was so unnecessary and I do not deserve you doing this, but THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This is the only palette I’ve used since Christmas and I am in LOVE with it.
Now. Last but not least…..
Canon Rebel T6i Camera!!!I am so so SO excited about this, it isn’t even funny. We’re going to be taking this thing to the next level! Thank you, Dad!!
Part of the reason it took me so long to get this post up is because I’m still learning how to use my camera, edit, and all of that fun stuff.. I am kind of getting the hang of it, but please bear with me!
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed! Feel free to leave a comment down below if you have any of these products, or tell me what you got for Christmas!

For the sake of the post, I decided I would start with all of my face makeup and eyebrows done, so we could just focus on the eyes…
The names of the shadows!
The order of the shadows I will be using.
I just wanted to insert this picture to show you guys what shades I will be using from the Holiday Palette, for those of you who don’t want to continue reading!
First things first, I went in with Makeup Geek Beaches and Cream and Creme Brulee for my transition shade. Then, I used a fluffy Estee Lauder blending brush and went in with the shade Chestnut in my crease and outer corner. It is such a beautiful shadow that has found it’s way into my top favorite shadows!Next, I took my Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Brush and applied the shade Frosty, which is that silvery color, all over my lid. I did end up doing a second layer using eyedrops to make it just a tad more intense… You could probably get away without it, since it does have a ton of pigment, but why not be extra at Christmas?!
After I applied the silver on my lid, I decided that it needed a darker color on the outer corner, because it just wasn’t popping like I wanted it to… So, I added this beautiful deep matte purple, Silent Night, and blended it into my outer corner and crease! I, personally, wanted to stay in the purple family, but a good black could be so awesome as well! (The first time I did this look was actually with Makeup Geek Corrupt instead. Follow this link to find it!)
I also put a little bit of Makeup Geek Shimma Shimma to the corner of my eye and under the brow bone!
After that, I curled my lashes and applied the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer and then the Perversion Mascara!
To top off the look, I applied my Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Bow and Arrow! I absolutely love, love, LOVE this lip color– it is so great for winter/fall!
And here is the finished look! I am so happy with the way it came out. It doesn’t show up as great in this picture- stupid iPhone… It was so much more vibrant in real life!
I hope you guys enjoyed this Christmas tutorial and that it sparked some inspiration for your festivities!

Also, I will no longer be doing “monthly favorites” like the rest of the Blog and YouTube world. Friday, I had a late night thought and decided “current obsessions” made just a little bit more sense on this blog. So, I hope you enjoy these new changes as much as I do!
All of that being said, let’s get into my first Current Obsessions post!
There are two products from MAC that I have been loving the past few months. These are among my very first purchase at MAC and I don’t know why I wasn’t forced to try this magic before…..
My current foundation obsession is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid in the shade NC15. It’s a matte finish foundation with build-able, medium coverage. I suggest applying this with the Morphe M439 brush (or your favorite foundation brush), and going back over the face with a damp Beauty Blender to achieve a more flawless finish. It does have a strong scent while applying, but goes unnoticed after application. This is just my favorite!
My second MAC obsession is the MACBronzing Powder in the shade Matte Bronze. This is a beautiful bronzer with amazing pigment. The only “negative” thing for me is I have actually gotten a little too pale for this shade at the moment and it can get a tad orange if I’m not careful. So, if you are very fair, this is probably not the shade for you. It is still a beautiful product that I have hit pan on in the short amount of time I have used it!
The third product should really be no surprise… This is the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Split Pan in the shades Prosecco Pop//Amaretto. Now… I know you probably expect me to “oooh” and “aaah” over Prosecco Pop, and YES it is so bomb. BUT…. Can we talk about Amaretto for a minute? UM HELLO. It’s as if Becca and Jaclyn were thinking of me when they made this product. Pure perfection. I’m not even gonna lie, I was tempted to buy like seven more just because my obsession is so real. Can we PLEAASE make this permanent guys!?
Next, I have the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I had heard such great things from many different people about this primer, so in one of my hauls I decided it was time to try it out. I have really loved using this product, and it is definitely a re-buy for me. The only complaint I have is the applicator being a little small which makes getting product out a slower process. But this may be just me, because we all know I am the most impatient person in the world when it comes to… everything. Okay, moving on…
My final obsession for this month is a gloss I have been wearing as much as humanly possible this summer. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in the shade Rio. I just want to say this is my absolute favorite gloss to date. It smells like birthday cake and that alone is enough to make me want to eat, I mean, wear it…. It is pretty sticky, but I like that in a gloss as it stays on longer than some of my other high end glosses. Ugh, the pigment. The shade. The smell. It’s perfection!
Hey guys! My skin has been superrr dry lately and everything I have tried has only been making it worse. The other night, I decided to try out the GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment to see if it would make any difference. Keep reading for my first impression of this mask!
I have combination/oily/sensitive skin, so I’m really not used to being dried out (unless I’m changing up my skincare). I received a sample of ThirstyMud in either a Sephora or GlamGlow purchase a few weeks back and decided what the heck? Nothing else was working and I NEEDED something to fix this problem and fast. That flakey, cakey skin look is just not cute…
You can leave this mask on for as long as you want. But, I had heard that you get the best results when worn overnight, so that’s what I decided to do! Around 11:35 p.m. last Monday, I decided I would give it a shot and put an even layer all over my face and left it on until about 4:30 a.m. when I decided I could not sleep with it on because my face was just sticking to everything and it’s mother… I knew this would happen, especially because I sleep on my stomach/sides, for the most part. So, I tried to force myself to sleep on my back… Unfortunately, that so did not work. When I looked at the clock and saw I had to be up in 2 hours to get ready for class, I decided to go ahead and remove it where I would hopefully fall asleep.. That was just my problem, it’s not uncomfortable by any means.. I’m just a really heavy sleeper.
I took the mask off with warm water and a washcloth and put on Josie Maran 100 Percent Pure Argan Oil Light all over my face to hopefully add to the hydration I’d been craving.. I was really pleasantly surprised when I woke up, washed my face, and put on foundation, that my face was no longer dry and flakey! My face felt very hydrated and refreshed after using it for just five short hours! I could not be happier with the results and will definitely be buying this mask ASAP. It seriously just changed my life!
What is your favorite face mask? I’m always wanting to try new ones, so let me know in the comments below!
